Auberson

Auberson is a village in the municipality of Sainte-Croix, the cradle of mechanical artistry and music box craftsmanship. This creation is a tribute to that special place, celebrating the heritage of both the region and Reuge, upheld by generations of skilled artisans.
Just like the village it’s named after, Auberson is a creation of sober refinement and contemporary simplicity, revealing an inner life like a precious gem.

Description

By the 1800s, Sainte-Croix had become the world’s capital of music boxes. Just down the road, beyond the hill, the tiny village of Auberson also played a vital role in creating and spreading this unique craftsmanship. When its small community of farmers wasn’t working in the fields, they were perfecting the art of music box making through meticulous piecework. Auberson stands as a tribute to these artisans and their remarkable skills.

For Auberson, we’ve selected Pachelbel’s Canon (three parts) as its featured composition.
