Onkō

From the contraction in Japanese of “on” for sound and “kō” for light—音光 (onkou). Inspired by Japanese lanterns, Onkō is a visual and aural metaphor for the new Reuge.
Onkō brings sound to light and light to sound.

Description

Drawing inspiration from the Japanese tōrō lanterns and their symbolism of the universe’s five elements—earth (chi), water (sui), fire (ka), wind (fū), and space (kū)—Onkō embodies these fundamental forces. It not only represents a metaphor for sound but also personifies Manufacture Reuge’s new brand identity.
When the melody begins, Onkō blossoms, and as the tune concludes, it gracefully closes, readying itself for the next performance.

Our choice of melodies for Onkō is ‘Autumn Leaves’ by J. Kosma, ‘What a Wonderful World’ by G.D. Weiss and ‘Summertime’ by G. Gershwin.
