Francastel

Francastel is named after Franc-Castel fortress, which once guarded the narrows of Entre-Roches near the town of Sainte-Croix in Switzerland.
Francastel is an imagined vision of a long-vanished fortress, its presence lingering in the landscape like a mirage that seamlessly merges with nature.

Description

This piece embodies the strength and precision of the original structure while embracing contemporary aesthetic codes. It bridges the gap between history and its modern interpretation. Pure and dynamic lines, glass and gleaming metal, juxtaposed to evoke the lost fortress, capture its essence within the mountainous landscape of Sainte-Croix.

Our choice of melodies for Francastel is ‘September at the river’ by F. Mendelssohn Hensel, ‘Piano Concerto in A Minor Op.7' by C. Schumann and ‘In my father’s garden’ by A. Mahler.
